On a chilly, though sunny, Sunday in January and just as the snow was starting to thaw, Mick and Barbara took us to the Italian Orchard Restaurant in Broughton for our Sunday “run”.
Burnley & Pendle Christmas Dinner
To quote Captain Renault, in Casablanca, “the usual suspects” were rounded up and attended this year’s finale to the Burnley and Pendle season, our Christmas dinner at the Old Stone Trough Hotel.
The Fleece Ruleholme and the Barn Scorton
The end of October saw Mick and Barbara lead us up through Cumbria and to the Scottish border and, indeed, to cross it when they organised a trip to the Fleece Hotel outside Carlisle.

Sunday, the 7th of September was forecast to be a rather dreary day, both cold and rainy. Nevertheless, the undaunted Burnley and Pendle MGOC – and their guests Steve and Janet – set off for Ireby Farm and the mandatory coffee and cakes.
Bolton Castle
“In September, Roger and Olive took the Burnley and Pendle MGOC to Bolton Castle at Castle Bolton, a longer than usual run and more unusually — because of different members’ commitments — in the mid week. We welcomed our new member Matthew and our visitors Kate and Mark.
