This is a sad month: David, one of our most stalwart members, has passed away after a long and bravely borne illness. A kind and seemingly unassuming man, he possessed great goodness and a dry wit, and he will be fondly remembered with tears of laughter as well as sorrow.
We are waiting as fast as we can at the Burnley and Pendle for the time when we are able, in good conscience, to set out on our adventures again, and that vaccination – and the gods that order such things – have given all of us immunity so we can resume our normal activities safely.
Barbara and Neil have been pondering the future and tell us about it. Christmas and New Year have passed and, in normal circumstances, we look back and re-live memories of the year, the drives and the venues we visited. However, this year has been dominated by the pandemic, causing pain and anxiety to many and curtailing activities throughout the country.
October brought the delayed – from March – trip to Glenridding on Ullswater and The Inn on the Lake.
