Stump Cross Caverns and Beyond
Roger tells us about this month’s Burnley and Pendle – rather wet – adventure. Our group left The Old Stone Trough in the drizzle to be greeted at our coffee stop at Stump Cross Caverns with even murkier conditions. Since our last visit the place had been revamped and the food was great. On then to our next stop, Scar House Reservoir where the weather had improved slightly. We were all impressed by this location and will definitely be visiting again. As it was Frank’s birthday he had brought cupcakes for us all. Unfortunately when Lauraine put things back in the boot of the TF she locked the keys in. After a bit of thinking Frank and Roger decided to go back to Clitheroe for the spare set. The rest of the team went down to How Stean Gorge and by the sounds of it had an afternoon of merrymaking in the restaurant. All ended well everyone enjoyed the day out.
