Christmas Dinner 2017
The 9th of December brought, not our Sunday Run for it was a Saturday, but our annual Christmas Dinner at the Old Stone Trough, organised by the indefatigable Janet W.Once more she, appropriately enough, shepherded into dinner- after pre-prandial drinks- and acted as Master of Ceremonies.
Richard, our Chairman, said a few words of thanks and presented her with a gift in token of our gratitude and then she welcomed us all, including our new members Robert and Rhoda, but, in doing so, expressed our sorrow that two of our Christmas Dinner stalwarts were unable, for health reasons, to be present.
After a festive repast she pulled out her Secret Santa Bag! And packed full of goodies it was. For each Member, these went with a few well-chosen words, though it is probably best not to enquire too closely as to their exact content.
After a Run, we usually write something like ‘and then we departed on our separate ways’ but on this occasion quite a few, in fact, departed to their comfy rooms at the Old Stone Trough, being – but not too –well dined and departed on their separate ways after breakfast!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to The MGOC and all its Members from the Burnley and Pendle MGOC.
