Chesterfield MG Group.

Six members of BPMGOC entered Chesterfield MG Group annual Shakedown Run on April 7th 2019
On a glorious sunny but breezy Saturday morning we left our base to head round the M60 and then over the tops to a lunch stop and a bit of retail therapy for the ladies in the beautiful Peak District town of Buxton.Although we had eaten a hearty brunch we still managed a Bakewell Tart and coffee at its namesake.
On Sunday morning it was off from our overnight stop at the Premier Inn at Chesterfield to the start of the run at Clay Cross. We were met by an entry of around 105 cars 75% MG of all eras.
The run was around 91 miles taking you through the Peak District of Derbyshire and Staffordshire. On the way passing through Wessington,Matlock,Wirksworth,Llam, the Manifold Valley,Axe Edge Moor,Longoria and Cromford among other places as well as two small fords. The Run finished at Carsington Water Visitor Centre which is the ninth largest in England and is a major centre for walking, cycling, fly fishing, bird watching sailing, canoeing and windsurfing. Many thanks to the Chesterfield Club for an excellent day and the kindness of the weather with most cars with tops down.
