Clitheroe Golf Club
For the first “Run” of the New Year – in view of the vagaries of January’s weather – the Members of the Burnley and Pendle MGOC decided to reprise their very successful visit to the delightful Clitheroe Golf Club and,at Frank and Janet’s invitation, twenty-four of us met there for lunch. The guests included The Clitheroe Golf Club Captain – by whose kind agreement we were able to use their facilities – and his wife, and Rob and Luba, Fred and Betty’s friends, along with our two new members, Mike and Kathryn.Actually, although the morning started as rather wet and dismal it did cheer up in the afternoon, with even a little (if wan) sun and the seven MGs – ancient and modern – that had braved the weather were able to line up outside the CGC entrance for a celebratory photograph. Never let it be said that MGs are only fair weather cars!
The CGC staff looked after us with an excellent meal and after many an exchange of our Christmas tales of awful motorways and travels to visit distant relatives we parted with the promise to meet up for our next engagement, the AGM and February Meeting and, perhaps, planning even more exciting adventures for the New Year.
