BPMGOC wishes you a Happy and Prosperous New Year
Hopefully, you will have all recovered from the excesses – commercial as well as culinary – of what was supposed to be a religious festival, and be out and about again in your MGs! At any rate, the Burnley and Pendle MGOC wishes you a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
Our year closed with its final event: The Christmas Dinner, on Saturday, December 8th at the Old Stone Trough, Kelbrook. Around twenty Members gathered in the afternoon, for drinks and reminiscing, and although Eric was unable to join us he does hope to do so on our January “Run”, to Clitheroe Golf Club, for lunch. Once more, the staff of the Old Stone Trough worked very hard to ensure that the dinner was the success it undoubtedly was and, of course, Janet reprised her “Secret Santa” role brilliantly! Mind you, David might have wished afterwards that she hadn’t dropped quite so many hints as to the contents of his box of chocolate liqueurs … Oh, and the Secretary’s wine bag was a bit of a giveaway!
Quite a few of us stayed at the hotel and, over postprandial drinks, were able to plan our adventures for the new year – what we are actually about, really – before retiring to our comfortable rooms for the night and join together again for breakfast. After which – among our goodbyes were many best wishes for Christmas – we made our separate ways home. Thank you to everyone involved in making this one another memorable occasion for the Burnley and Pendle MGOC.
